| The
North Coast of NSW is spoiled for live music. The hills are
literally alive with musos playing, experimenting, jamming
and exploring. There’s something for everyone; bluegrass,
jug bands, klezmer, Macedonian folk, Celtic, pure punk, hard
rock, jazz fusion, string quartets, everything in between
and some things unclassified!
With both the Conservatorium of Music
and a world-class music faculty at Southern Cross University
being located in Lismore, the migration here continues. With
live venues at Byron Bay attracting acts from interstate and
overseas, sometimes the hardest thing is deciding which line-up
to catch!
There is nothing quite like live music.
We support it by getting off the couch, going out, soaking
up the atmosphere and clapping and cheering when it’s
good. And so can you. If you’re not already, go and
get some live. And take a risk once in a while on a band you
don’t know. They could become a new favourite. After
all, once upon a time, nobody knew The Beatles, U2, Radiohead
or Wolfmother. That band you see next week at your local could
be the next big thing!
